I love the Mavrk fly rod - it's between a 3 and 4 weight and you can set it up for 9' or 10.5' with an extra section. The 10.5 length is perfect for me, the 9 foot setup is perfect for my kids, so one rod is very versatile depending on the day. This has quickly become my favorite go to rod in my quiver.
I have used countless rods on the market and the Mavrk dual has been my favorite rod for nearly 3 years straight. Being a guide in south-central Pennsylvania I use this rod for everything from catching small brook trout, to rainbow trout stocked and wild, to big trophy brown trout. With an incredible tip action this rod protects yours tippet when the pressure is on. The versatility of a modular rod comes in handy in the thick woods of Pennsylvania when I can’t use a full length rod but need the reach. Whether it’s chucking a hopper dropper, throwing a streamer, or using it as a true ESN rod this rod can do it all. A traditional reel seat allows you to choose between your stinger comp or m1 setup or to try with any reel.
I use a Mavrk rod to guide my clients on rivers and creeks. The 10’ 6” length and tip action are great for beginners and advanced anglers. Most of my clients really like contact nymphing because we get rid of mending and just track the sighter. For beginners I fix the line to the stinger micro reel with the rubber band and there’s less for them to think about. It’s a good system for dry flies too.
