Performance First
It starts with the best graphite available. The MV-X rod blank uses premium Japanese Toray 46T Ultra high modulus carbon fiber. Due to its superior strength, the MV-X utilizes less material, which means lighter weight, more sensitivity and faster recovery.

The aggressive taper design (larger diameter butte section) of the MV-X provides fast action for pinpoint accuracy when casting small nymphs, along with huge power at the mid and base for casting heavier flies and steering larger trout.

Recommended Lines The soft tip of the MV-X is optimized to cast Euro nymph level lines with long, light leaders and weighted flies. For this setup, we recommend the Tracer Series ESN line. When switching to floating lines, the MV-X pairs perfectly with the Commander WF-5 for Dry fly and Indicator fishing. For turning over heavier rigs, go with the Commander WF-6 Recommended Reels For Euro Nymphing: When fishing thin lines like the Tracer, the Smoke ESN is the reel of choice. Its closed-cage design prevents line slip, while the large arbor and smooth drag provide total control. For Floating Lines: If you primarily use floating lines, both the Smoke and Enduro are excellent options. The Enduro offers increased capacity for line and backing, and both reels balance the MV-X rod perfectly. For Ultra-Light Performance: For pure simplicity in a dedicated tight-line system, we recommend the Stinger Comp. At just 1.3 ounces, it maximizes rod sensitivity and eliminates arm fatigue during long days of high-sticking. The Stinger Comp comes loaded with the Tracer 62 Euro nymph line.
